Okay. How lifeless can I be to write an article about eating Insomnia Cookies? Well, am I really lifeless if I’m actually writing? Regardless, I just moved into my college dorm room for the first time, and after celebrating my blog’s birthday, I wanted to commemorate it by getting cookies. It was not a long walk, but considering I went out at night alone, it wasn’t the smartest thing to do. I know, that was very bad and nonsensical on my part. Anyways, I was proud of myself and my work. Therefore, I wanted to get something sweet at the end of the day, and that’s why I went to Insomnia Cookies.

It took about 10-15 minutes to wait and get my cookies. Keep in mind that only two people could go in at a time, and there were already some people ahead of me. The cookie flavors weren’t wide in variety, but I chose to get the Chocolate Chunk and Deluxe Confetti cookies. If I recall correctly, they were around $4-$5 and some change for just those two cookies alone. Mind you, I didn’t buy any milk. Nevertheless, I was happy to get them due to having heard of them before, but what’s my verdict?

Let me start by saying that my mother has made cookies at home for years. She has not bought Pillsbury Cookie Dough or any brand of cookie dough at the store for that matter in years. It may sound shocking, but my mother does not mind baking at home, especially since she can bake a dessert for a fraction of the store cost. For the price of those two cookies, my mother could make dozens of cookies and taste just as good. The dough be coming out real good, and when you bite into a baked cookie with some milk, oh my god. That Ghirardelli semi-sweet chocolate chips be doing its job of melting in your mouth. The decadence be through the roof, sis.

That said, they were good cookies. The chocolate chunks were decadent, and the cookie texture meshed well with the chocolate flavor. The deluxe confetti was interesting. I don’t eat white chocolate that much, though maybe the flavor was quite much? I feel that some would find the Deluxe Confetti cookie too sweet, but like the Chocolate Chunk cookie, that cookie had a good texture.

I’m sure you can tell which cookie is which. But for those who can’t, this photo shows the Deluxe Confetti cookie, while the photo right above it shows the Chocolate Chunk cookie.

Would I have Insomnia Cookies again? Yeah, why not? In fact, I went and got the same flavors again a few days ago. Even so, I don’t think they replace my mother’s cookies. They remind me of how they are at home. However, if I had to choose between paying $4-$5 and some change for their cookies and receiving my mom’s cookies for free, you best believe I’m going with the latter.
